It was June 2020 when I decided to adopt her. I had flirted with the idea a while back, but somehow it all magically happened. My friend Marina told me about a mother cat who gave birth to three kittens and is in a garage in Kukaki, and after she showed me a photo, I immediately said that I really want to adopt her. She helped me a lot in the beginning because I had no idea how to become a cat parent and I thank her publicly for that! It was a particularly difficult time for me as I was looking for ways to change habits because I quit smoking. I have never smoked again since and my new habit has no smoke at all, lots of love, meows and hair! So it is true that calico cats bring luck, to me for sure because I managed to fulfill my goal.

At first I wanted to call her "Karderina" since everyone knows me as "Karderino" if my last name is Karderinis. But finally, during the first days when she was at home and my friend and I were looking for a name for her, a friend said to me "hey, you'll call her Corina, she's the same cat from Crimes". And just like that, we found her name that perfectly describes her because she is an unruly and dynamic cat!

At first I was quite nervous. It was something completely new for me to have a cat at home. But over time, stress gave way to happy moments. They multiplied, Corina helped me quit smoking, I helped her grow up in a protected and healthy environment, and that's how we developed a beautiful relationship!

I share quite a lot on social media with Korina and of course those who have been following me for a long time may remember that. At first Corina had a mania for curtains. I was never able to secure a curtain because it kept climbing up there. After 6-7 curtains turned into rags, I was deciding to live in a house without curtains and I'm ok with that!

I could say she is a real lady in general! She is correct in her eating (free feeding and is fine with her weight), she is not greedy asking for our food, also most of the day she enjoys her favorite corners in the house and even with the plants most of the time they are very good. What she likes is opening doors so we are constantly locked because she jumps on the doorknobs and if the door is unlocked she goes right out into the hallway! What definitely makes her happy is the caresses, the boxes, covering her with our clothes and hiding in the closets.

I think the hardest part was trying to cut the nails. Even with the special nail clipper it won't let us and we never succeeded. We have left her alone, that is, once again she has done her thing!

I believe that the better her food, the better and more essential her care. At the beginning we gave her a classic kibble but very quickly I studied the foods and we changed it to grain free and gluten free food with high percentages of animal protein and without any salt. Her coat changed immediately and Corinna really enjoys this food. It is a bit more expensive than the others but we always want the best for her and don't mind the price difference!

The foil balls haha! No matter how many gadgets/toys I buy for Corina, her favorites will always be the tinfoil balls and receipts, the ribbons from the candy boxes, and the shoe boxes!
